I combine Essential Oils and Bach Flowers in my rollers because the combination is so awesomely effective and works like magic (oh, I forgot – it is magic). Essential Oils provide physical support, whereas Bach Flowers work on the energetic level, and blending them combines each of their strengths. Their combination in rollers support a whole range of health and wellness issues, including relaxation, focus, motivation, clarity, and skin nourishment, depending on the roller you select.

Essential oils are natural plant extracts derived from flowers, bark, resins and leaves of plants. They’re super-concentrated, and have been used for centuries for health, wellness, and beauty. Each Essential Oil contains the essence of the plant from which is derived, and each essence has specific properties. For instance, Lavender is relaxing and anti-bacterial, Peppermint is invigorating and helps with headaches, and Rosemary improves circulation and enhances focus.

In addition to the physical and emotional advantages of using Essential Oils, there is also the benefit of their scent. Essential Oils smell wonderful!!

Scent is why I personally began using Essential Oils way back when, in my teens. At that point I wasn’t overly concerned about getting more relaxed, focused, or centred. I was just looking for a nice scent, and Essential Oils provided precisely that.

A lovely side effect of having a wonderful scent in your space or on your body is that it helps you feel happier, and this begins an entire positive health and wellness cycle. This is why when a client is selecting a roller, I sometimes suggest to not even think about what the “official” benefits are of the oils, but rather to go based solely on what smells best. Because the the better the scent for you (and what is “better” is utterly personal and subjective), the better you’ll feel.

On the technical side, it’s important for me to share that I use Doterra brand Essential Oils in my rollers. This is because I trust their quality, and quality is extremely important to me in all my products.

The set of flower essences known as “Bach Flower remedies” were developed about a century ago by London doctor and surgeon Dr. Edward Bach. Bach Flowers help you balance your thoughts, moods and feelings, and support you in bringing out your best qualities.

Bach Flowers are derived primarily from wildflowers and tree blossoms, and unlike Essential Oils, are scentless. They are powerful because of their energetic frequency. (Well, technically everything is, but let’s leave that to the side for now…)

I use Bach Flowers with adults, teens, and children to help them balance their thoughts and feelings and bring out their true essence and best qualities. Along the way, for those ordering personally-formulated blends, there is also generally a lot of self-understanding and clarity that is also gained through the process. I also prepare Bach Flower formulas for animals, primarily cats and dogs, helping them recover from fears, anxieties, and past traumas.

I love Bach Flower essences because they are powerful, gentle, and effective. They offer a practical way of helping you through difficult periods and life challenges. They support you in empowering yourself to move forward, rather than letting people, past traumas, and events hold you back.

Bach Flowers are also great to take when things are going well, for there is always room for improvement, getting even better, and reaching even more targets and goals. By taking Bach Flower remedies consistently, you learn to put aside layers of behaviours, thought patterns, and moods that keep you from being the best version of you. This is why I take Bach Flowers over the long term – because they support me deeply in reaching my goals.

Combining Essential Oils and Bach Flower essences is effective because it’s stacking benefits.

• Essential Oils work on a physical level, impacting your body and brain through your olfactory system, skin absorption, and where an Essential Oil is able to be ingested (be cautious with this, for not all are able to be ingested), digestion.

• In contrast, Bach Flower remedies work on an energetic level, balancing your thoughts and emotional states through vibrational healing.

When you combine the two, you take advantage of the synergetic energy between the physical and the energetic. Let’s take, for example, a roller containing Lavender Essential Oil and my proprietary Bach Flower blend (Anti-)Stress Formula. The Lavender’s flowery scent relaxes your body through its effect on your limbic system, and the Bach Flowers calm and ground you through their work on your energetic bodies. Voila. Double effectiveness. I am all for doubling effectiveness.

I recommend rollers to many of my clients because they are a super-easy and convenient way to benefit from Essential Oils. It’s super-easy and convenient because the Essential Oils in the rollers are already diluted by a carrier oil (I generally use fractionated coconut oil), making them safe for direct use on your skin.

Background: Essential Oils are incredibly concentrated, so they need to be diluted before use (it takes about It takes about 75 lemons to produce a 15 mL of Lemon Essential Oil, and approximately 10,000 rose blossoms to produce a 5 mL bottle of Rose Essential Oil (now you understand why Rose Essential Oil is so pricey!). As Essential Oils are pre-diluted in a roller, there’s no additional mixing required, as is the case when you have a bottle of pure oil. All you need to do is roll on and enjoy.

Another benefit of the rollers is that they are small and portable. My standard rollers are 10 mL, and I occasionally also offer 3.5 mL sized rollers. Their small size makes it easy to carry them around with you, and that means they’re convenient to take whenever you want to use them.

You can choose Bach Flowers in many ways other than only rollers. You also have the option of 10 mL, 30 mL, and 60 mL bottles with either spray tops or dropper lids. These bottles generally do not contain Essential Oils, though there is the option of adding a few drops of an oil for a faint, gentle scent. If you want to check out these options, here is where you find custom-formulated Bach Flower formulas, and this is for speedy Grab-and-Go blends. These are for when your main focus is on Bach Flowers. However, if you want scented Essential Oils more than anything else, I suggest the rollers.

Applying Essential Oil rollers is easy-peasy. Just remove the lid and roll onto your skin.

And where to roll on? You have tons of choices, and here are some options:

• The insides of your wrists, neck, behind your ears – easy to reach and discreet when you’re in public.

• For skin-nourishing rollers like Patchouli or Copaiba, roll them onto spots wanting special attention, such as your face, hands, rough patches, and wrinkles.

• Interested in taking advantage of reflexology points? Roll onto the soles of your feet or the palms of your hands. Or both.

• I also suggest rolling onto anywhere you want specific support. For instance, if you feel anxiety in your belly or chest, try rolling a Lavender Essential Oil roller with (Anti-) Stress Formula Bach Flowers there. Rolling a roller onto a place on your body that is experiencing distress has a deep, somatic effect.

• Above your upper lip, below your nostrils – great for maximizing the scent of a roller because it helps allows the scent to reach your olfactory system quickly and easily. Try it with a Vetiver roller to help calm before sleep.

• Anywhere else you’d like!
